Our Family

Twice a year, three generations of our family meet to review and set a clear direction and purpose for Macadamias Australia and Farm Fresh Fine Foods. We are committed to continuing our late parents’ legacy, and understand that investing in future generations is paramount for the ongoing success of our family business.

Family Council meetings help ensure that the values our parents instilled in us remain at the heart of every business decision we make.

Since our humble beginnings in November of 1958,

the Steinhardt Corporation has endured some tough times, exciting diversification and plenty of good times. Through it all, one thing has remained constant – the bonds of family, and the support of those friends and employees who have come on the journey with us.

Like Walt Disney wrote: “The legacy continues. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things… and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths”. And that’s how we operate as a family business – always looking to the next new thing with curious minds. Our parents, Ron and Marion, were exactly the same.

Our business continues to grow into something our parents could not have ever dreamt possible for themselves. To pay for their farm land to be cleared, Dad continued his arduous work at the sawmill in the neighbouring Queensland town of Maryborough. With family help, they planted peanuts and lived in a small shed awning, with three walls and an open front. Dad had an old wood stove for warmth and cooking, and slept on a mattress made from corn stalks.

Together, they laid the vital foundations for growth, for us to spread strong branches that support our future family leaders.

Our vision is to build a sustainable business and macadamia industry for all.

“…it all starts with what Marion would say: have an attitude of gratitude! Each day of our lives we took every opportunity to consolidate, be thankful, to plan and not be frightened of getting our hands dirty. Have a thankful heart, life is not meant to be easy but we must acknowledge how blessed we are to have been born to good parents and have such a wonderful extended family of children, in-laws, grandchildren and friends.”
